Abu Sa'id al-Khudri reported that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said: "The garment of a Muslim should reach the middle of the shins, but there is no harm or blame if it falls between that point and the ankles. Anything below the ankles will be in the Fire of Hell. Whoever drags his garment behind him out of pride, Allah will never look at him."

Al-Azimabadi said: "There is a reference in this narration that it is recommended to lower a Muslim man's robe to the middle of his shins. However, it is permissible to lower it to the ankles without disapproval."
